With the ambition to unveil to the world the most brilliant of designs in the realm of lighting and home decor, Orange tree is a venture that is a vanguard in rendering innovative designs of contemporary lighting, accent furniture and décor for a lovely abode as well as workplace.
Orange Tree, founded in January 2014, is a brainchild of Basant Handicrafts, a well-known manufacturer and exporter of solid sheesham wood furniture worldwide, supplying to the likes of Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, West Elm and Freedom among others. For us the crux of ornamentation is to add a wonderful modern contemporary twist to the the Indian handicrafts usually banal surroundings and transform it into an awe inspiring setting that blends perfectly in any of the urban households. This idea led to the inception of Orange Tree that takes pride in its feisty designers and in house manufacturing unit that puts together their enviable energy to produce artifacts that are impeccable in quality and are an instant charmer and owing to our export background; impeccable quality. We offer lighting solutions that defy the tradition of just sticking lamps to the table as our styles include hanging, table, floor, wall and study lamps etc. to redefine the purpose of lamps from utility to beauty. Besides lamps we also have a colossal collection of mirrors, photo frames, wall decor, clocks and contemporary pieces of accent furniture. To contemporize Indian handicraft.
To give back to the Indian market high quality designs, ‘Made in India’, though traditional in spirit but highly contemporary in form and style.
Today’s urban Indian household, as is evolving and improving in its standard of living constantly. They have a taste and eye for good quality aesthetics and doesn’t settle for less. But the options that are available in the Lighting and Home décor market are either too traditional or cheap imports from international markets. International market is saturated with design ideas that later filter into the domestic market as an afterthought. We design to alter this process bridge this gap. We design for India first. We design a fresh perspective keeping in mind the aesthetics, functionality, costs, ergonomics, quality & environment. Minimalistic look with a mix of materials, traditional techniques and high quality.
An in-house manufacturing unit and design team comprised of dedicated designers brings about this alteration wherein they understand the Indian handicrafts as we have been associated and working with Indian artisans for close to 10 years. That work hand in hand with Indian artisans and envisage products for the new Urban India.
